Where has grace moved in your life?
This morning, as this is read (maybe!), some of the youth I have been mentoring in the detention center are being released. I am so excited for them to have a new start in life! I know they want it very badly. The photo below is of a flower that is in a garden that housed a veggie garden for food-at-risk families. The boys I am meeting this morning, who are leaving, were instrumental in planting this garden. They are the evidence of grace and I am honored to work with them. One of the youth has decided he wants a garden when he has his own space as an adult. My heart is strangely warmed!
“The many great gardens of the world, of literature and poetry, of painting and music, of religion and architecture, all make the point as clear as possible: The soul cannot thrive in the absence of a garden. If you don't want paradise, you are not human; and if you are not human, you don't have a soul.”
