do not judge me!
i did not slink
through the murky
nightfall of stars
leaving the sky
in a vapid attempt to
find the safety of
an oasis floating
on wall street.
i may not have a
job but at least i have
my soul.

for Three Word Wednesday
An interesting image of finding safety on wall street. My first response is the oasis is a mirage. A shimming illusion. Perhaps that’s what you meant me to see. Anyway… sleepy thoughts sent your way. *hugs*
‘An oasis on wall street’ is a great line..always good not to trade your soul for a suit..very sharp post..Jae
I love this. When Jesus sent his disciples out on their first mission he told them that if a town (or person) doesn’t accept their message of love then to leave, shake their dust from their feet and move on. Well I would tell RL I’m moving on, you’ve heard the message, you refused, you are no longer my responsiblity, your G-d’s and someday I pray that G-ds grace will find you.
PS. This is weird I was writing a comment to you, while you were writing one to me. AH we are in synch this morning. Peace my friend
I SO relate to this. Having worked at all levels of politics in Canada I lost my soul and my mind. I’ve since reclaimed it by moving away from the city and spending all my time writing, as I should have done, long ago. Love and Light, Sender
…but at least I have my soul, I liked the end so much. Keep having a soul, very powerful, short, but great poem!
