TGIF – What are you grateful for?

“At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.” — Albert Schweitzer

I am grateful, today, for the many thoughts I have had yesterday as I balanced my military friends aversion to fireworks and loud, repetitive popping sounds with my absolute non-violence friends as they provoked thoughts of what is and is not just war. And some of my religious friends as they reminded me of the pagan roots of our 4th of July celebration and my pagan friends as they pish-toshed that idea. So many people and so many ways of being in the world. Let us all rekindle each other through incredible kindness, gratitude, and love.

Plus, I love fireworks. So here is my little photo essay on the celebration at Bellevue Park. The pictures are much nicer if you click on them and look at them large, BTW.

And if anybody is interested, for fireworks, manual focus on infinity, telephoto lens, F11, 2-3 second shutter speed (I changed it mid-way). And ISO 200 which I changed from 100 at the beginning. Next year, lose the telephoto lens probably. But the background for this area is a mall, so maybe tight shots on the explosions are good.
