So this week my husband came home one day and said, "Did you know that cherry trees come in pink!?!" I just kind of looked at him for a second and said, "Well, yeah. Of course, they are all around here." He said, "They all look white to me!" At which point we both started laughing. You see he's colorblind and most of the time it doesn't matter. But every now and then he'll say something or see something and we realize just how differently we see the world. Now I'm really grateful that I can see color. I actually see more colors than most people and I have a ton of fun playing with different colors in different media. Yet, even more than that I am grateful that hubby and I have learned to laugh at ourselves. We can both be terribly serious people. Learning to laugh at the funny things of life has been a true blessing in our lives. I can't wait until he sees this picture and realizes that, not only do cherry trees come in pink, they come in pink and white together. We'll get a laugh out of the absurdity of that too. 😀
"I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells.
Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, it's a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope.
Which is what I do, and that enables you to laugh at life's realities." - Dr. Seuss
