I love the opportunity to be with my dog, Sherlock. And even more so when i get to lavish attention on him. But with my school schedule, i haven't been able to add class time with him. This summer I am spending time on Thursday nights learning how to talk to my dog. He's fabulously smart and figures things out very quickly but I need lots of training. Im working on getting my clicker timing down so he he understands which behavior I want when. If I confuse him he's adorable because he offers me whatever he thinks I want. I have a hard time keeping from laughing when I think I am asking him to heel and he lies down, then sits up, and then gets up on his hind legs. "Which trick gets me the turkey, Momma? I know them all, see!" He is such a joy in my life and I am grateful!
"Dog training class is not for the dog, it's for the owner."
