This particular winter has been hard. Lots of good-byes, a surgery, an emergency trip to see my mother, and pain. I am ready to leave winter behind and embrace the newness of spring. Today was a beautiful day. I was able to take my dog, Sherlock, for a ride in the car with the sunroof open and the windows rolled down. Having the windows down always reminds me of learning to drive in Alabama in a car with no air conditioning. I didn't really care that much, it was a ride and freedom and I was thrilled because I didn't expect to have a car at all. So today brought back the memory of that joy. I am ready for more discovery and freedom as spring advances.
