TGIF: Gratitude for Peace

Thirteen years ago I watched as my understanding of peace evaporated. It was no longer "the normal state of my country" but became something elusive and mysterious. Now we have been at war for thirteen years with images on my television I never dreamed I would see. As we get further and further away from peace as normality for the US, I have begun to realize that I must treasure each moment of peace given to me in my life. And each day that I get up and manage the conflicts in my life with peace, I celebrate! I watch others creating peace in large and small ways too. I live in hope that these efforts and the efforts of millions more peaceful people in the world will change our battling world and there will be even more peace to be grateful for in the next thirteen years.

"If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten we belong to each other." - Mother Teresa
