TGIF: Gratitude for Modern Travel

I was out of town last week.  This is a pretty normal statement for someone to make.  But for me, last week represented a wealth of travel to be grateful for.  You see my Mom is very sick and in the hospital.  I wasn't going to be able to go see her because of several reasons.  Then one of my friends offered to take those reasons away and travel with me.  I am immensely grateful to her for this kind generosity.  But it doesn't end there.  One of my sisters works in retail and she just happened to have an empty three day weekend so she was able to go too.  Then the other sister was able to get leave from the military and fly half way around the world to meet us in my Mom's hospital room.  So for the first time in 11 years, my father, mother, sisters, and I were all in the same room together.  I am amazed at the technology allows for this to happen and grateful for the serendipity that produced the timing.

"Prayer is an act of love; words are not needed. Even if sickness distracts from thoughts, all that is needed is the will to love."
