TGIF: Gratitude for an Unscheduled Week

As I went to write this post, I realized I hadn't done much running around this week. And that was wonderful! I am so grateful for a week of mostly sunshine with little dashing here and there to meet the daily needs of our house and home and my schoolwork. Might seem like a small thing but sunshine and time together are a rare occurrence for me. I have enjoyed it.

If a man insisted always on being serious, and never allowed himself a bit of fun and relaxation,

he would go mad or become unstable without knowing it.  --Herodotus

  • Exactly … Before I retired from Boeing in late May of 2010, I had a job that I loved but that was quite demanding. It involved a lot of travel to Europe, Japan, Hong Kong, and SE Asia (Singapore & Bangkok). It was not uncommon to find me at my office on Saturdays & I’d often have my computer on my lap to check e-mails during TV commercials. (I was supporting 15 airline clients / customers in various time-zones.) So I didn’t have much “blank space”. Now I do and, almost 5 years later, I still do LOVE it. I can actually exercise, make my daily trip to Starbucks, read a book … and still have plenty of time to write the “Skeptic’s Collection” for BeguineAgain.
