TGIF: Gratitude for an Incomplete

A new thing happened to me this quarter in school. I got an incomplete in one of courses. I had to miss a weekend of classes, which is a lot of time to miss in a quarter, because my mother fell deathly ill suddenly. (She is faring better now.) I have never had to ask for an incomplete before. I have had all kinds of experiences of grace from professors with timing and all. However, for some reason this really touched me. If a professor gives an incomplete, she/he carries more of a burden than usual for that student. I am really grateful that my teacher had pity on me and gave me the gift of time.
