TGIF: Gratitude for a New School Year

First, I apologize that this post is later than normal. I was so preoccupied with preparing for the start of a new school year, this slipped through the cracks.

Walking through the rain this morning, I was struck by feelings of comfort and familiarity. This is the first day of my sixth year of graduate school (it's a long story). As much as I have enjoyed my break from the expectations I place on myself and the papers, of course, during school time, I have missed it. I love learning and I love being with other people who want to discuss the same issues and possibilities I do. So today I am grateful for the opportunities that began this morning and the surprises waiting to come in this educational experiment of life.

If there is a sense of reality, there must also be a sense of possibility.  --Robert Musil
