Spring break this week meant a trip to see my parents. Sometimes I am a bit jealous of those who live close to their family and I was thinking this as I made my way through security to board the plane. I waited, then boarded, and settled into my window seat for the next quarter of a day. As we took off and the ground below us seemed to drop way, I thought what an amazing thing it is to fly. Here I am in my bus with wings traveling from one coast of a continent to another: 2795 miles in 5 hours and 51 minutes. I could visit with my family, go to the church I grew up in, and celebrate my Dad's 70th birthday even though I'm only off school for a week. All because of my tiny cubby in a flying miracle. What freedom!! Today I am grateful that my distance from family does not mean my alienation from them.
