Sometimes things just land in your lap and you say, "Thank you" and go with it! This is just such a day. We have a guest posting from Joan Leotta. Joan is an author and story performer. She arrived on my email doorstep this week and I am delighted to share her gifts. As testimony Tuesday is dedicated to pointing towards the truth of things, I feel her gracious offering of Candles is in order. I am very grateful to her generosity! Thank you, Joan! Testimony Tuesday! Preach!

I have been sick. I'm ready to stand up and yell and be happy again! Except then I will be in a paroxysm of coughing. So, the yelling in my typing is because I have the actual energy of a gnat. Also, I just discovered the drop cap setting. Is that too annoying? We'll see. Among other things, I have also figured out how to streamline this website and simplify it. So welcome to our new look. Do let me know if you find it too plain. I will then blame the web developers of the theme I chose, but what evs. Anyway, preaching, super glad that I wasn't booked last week to preach. I wouldn't have been able to do it. But as I regained my health and did my art & haiku practice, I tried to watercolor paint an iris for the first time using a tutorial by @dearannart on Instagram. I wasn't thr...

Awake to (in)Justice

Today, I am giving the following testimony in Olympia, Washington. I thought I'd share it here. I honestly believe that we are all called to confront injustice where we see it. I am called, in particular, to confront injustice with youth affected by incarceration. I often see the best and worst that the world can throw in that situation. I see the beauty of the divine in every young person's face that I meet - that child created as a beloved, whole, reflection of the divine. I see the complete loss of Beauty and Love when politics and self-interest over-ride the call to protect our children. Where do you see Beauty? Where have you felt the lack of Love? What (in)justice is calling to you? Testimony for HB 1651 – Youth Opportunity Act Good morning Mister Chair and members of the committe...
