Inspirational Poetry – I Rise

Inspirational Poetry – I Rise

A poem today from Maya Angelou about the indomitable human spirit encourages us to keep rising even when the chips are stacked against us. At the same time that it encourages, it is a challenge to keep on rising! Rising! A verb, action. One that has consequences for the people around us. We can either rise and pull people up or we can rise and push them out of the way. What will you do? Why are you beset with gloom? 'Cause I walk like I've got oil wells Pumping in my living room. Maybe you will join me in listening to Velma Frye's so...

I offer it to you as inspiration and wonder, what writing inspires you to a deeper commitment to the world? to deeper action?  Emerging Wisdom Create a new room in your home for the knowing beyond knowing. Sweep your cave daily. Place some dirt on your altar. Call down the birds from the sky in worship. Meditate with flowers in the park. Learn from puppies and babies, as well as from the elderly and mid-lifers. Listen with the ear of a snail, and remember that pearls are born from grit. Be still like a lake at dawn, a kind and truthful mirror of what is. Alignment is difficult unless you c...
