Today's inspiration is short and sweet. A quote offered by Brene Brown in Daring Greatly that is actually a quote from Sirius Black somewhere in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Sirius turns to Harry and says, You're not a bad person. You're a very good person who bad things have happened to. Besides, the world isn't split into good people and Death Eaters. We've all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That's who we really are. And that's the truth!

It dawned on me this week that Paul in Christian scripture was probably awkward. He was Jewish, Roman, and a follower of "The Way." (Early Christians did not call themselves Christians -- they were followers of The Way.) Paul sits at this point of being in three different circles. That is hard! And it gives Paul a different perspective than many of the other early followers of Jesus. No wonder he said, 19 For though I am free with respect to all, I have made myself a slave to all, so that I might win more of them. 20 To the Jews I became as a Jew, in order to win Jews. To those under the law I became as one under the law (though I myself am not under the law) so that I might win those under the law. 21 To those outside the law I became as one outside the law (though I am not free from God’...
