It's been a momentous week! The first total eclipse within driving distance from me in my lifetime. A year ago my Dad called me to ask if I wanted to road-trip with him down to Oregon to see it in totality. I was excited about the idea. So after a whole year of planning, we drove down last Sunday through Portland to Madras. I am so grateful for the community of Madras, OR! They didn't ask for 100,000 people to descend upon them all at once to see this astrological event but they took on the hospitality of the situation completely. Everyone was helping. From the teens directing traffic to the local medical community taking shifts on a mobile med unit. Local mechanics were available to jump cars and provide roadside assistance and The National Guard helped to keep traffic moving in the ri...

I'm sorry I have been missing lately. I have been very sick and utterly exhausted. But today I saw a doctor who had some hopeful news for me. I'm doing a 6 week trial and then we'll see. This is the first hope I have had of getting better in a while and I am basking in the light of that hope! Word:  So, I am sad today. What I am most sad with is the calls all over the internet (and by internet, I mean Facebook) that are saying, "Love wins in the end! Hold onto hope!" Uh huh. In the meantime, Mexicans, Muslims, LGBTQIA folx, are terrified that they will be kicked out, detained, or have their marriages annulled or bathroom rights taken away. And by Mexicans, Muslims, and LGBTQIA folx, I mean United States citizens. Much less being female-bodied and having the most misogynistic and relentless campaign ever take down a woman who is super smart and has a great resume.
