stony ground

journeying through the stony ground,
my being is caught between
the flight of fancy and the clay,
dreaming of another way.

my being is caught between
seeing the way with eyes shut, and
dreaming of another way,
beyond the halo of reason.

seeing the way, with eyes shut and
hands raised to G-d knows what,
beyond the halo of reason
effectively becoming hardened.

hands raised to G-d knows, what
the flight of fancy and the clay,
effectively becoming hardened,
journeying through the stony ground.

I like this, it reminds me of my struggle between which path I should take. The easy one or the hard one.

I particularly appreciate the line "hands raised to G-d knows what". That brings up so much for me about what do we actually know about G-d.

i am always dreaming of another way... to see my path. this reminds me of this. how "my being is caught between seeing the way with eyes shut, and dreaming of another way, beyond the halo of reason." it's better to see the way, with eyes shut :)
