Jesus said to his disciples:
"Ask and it will be given to you;
seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks, receives;
and the one who seeks, finds;
and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
Which one of you would hand his son a stone
when he asked for a loaf of bread,
or a snake when he asked for a fish?
All the wonderful songs keep echoing in my head when prompted by some of these readings. Today…
“Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and God’s righteousness.
And all these things shall be given unto you…Alleluia."
And each verse…
“Knock and the door shall be opened unto you…etc.”
With the soaring Alleluia descant which I love to sing.
However, I would like to point out that what shall be found is not indicated.

Sometimes, discernment feels a bit like trying to avoid the goat. Now, logically, I want to say that the world needs goats, but come on!
OK. Making room in my heart for goats. Sigh.
