Gratitude for My Sister the Major

I had the opportunity to visit with my sister during my vacation. What made this an amazing and unique experience is that this is the first time in about 25 years we could spend hours of uninterrupted time alone together. No husbands, no kids, no parents. We love our family and we love spending time with them. This was just different. We celebrated Mom's birthday and played some games and just jawed a while.

I am so proud of her. She's done well in her career in the Air Force but, of course, I haven't heard too much about what she does. I actually seldom see her in uniform. So I treasure this photo of my brave sister who has seen more war than anyone should have to. I am so grateful to be so close to my sisters. And especially grateful for this time together!

"For there is no friend like a sister in calm or stormy weather; To cheer one on the tedious way, to fetch one if one goes astray, to lift one if one totters down, to strengthen whilst one stands." --Christina Rossetti
