Opening:
Let my heart rise up to meet mercy, my voice to meet compassion, my hands to meet action.
BIBOLove: Breath In, Breath Out--Roar
Music:
Fight Song, Rachel Platten
This is my fight song
Take back my life song
Prove I'm alright song
My power's turned on
Starting right now I'll be strong
I'll play my fight song
And I don't really care if nobody else believes
'Cause I've still got a lot of fight left in me
The Heart
by Bill Simmons
The heart it suffers losses
For every single tear
Sometimes when it is lonely
Or feels a heartache near
We will scold our children
No, you can’t do that
A single tear will fall
But it’s not all so bad
The heart it will heal
Through the strength of love it gives
There is no greater strength on earth
Than a heart’s strength of will
Turn back the pages
Through the ages of all time
It is love of heart that has guided us
And constantly reminds
Although a single tear may fall
Although it may suffer so
It is so apart of us
And too that of our soul
The heart it will heal
Through the strength of love it gives
There is no greater strength on earth
Than a heart’s will to live.

Prayers
2015.12.14
For the oppressed and weary
Especially for #blacklivesmatter and
for the LGBTQIAP community.
For despair of violence,
for words that speak harm, especially against Muslims
especially, for the teacher in France who made up a school attack
for fighting in Nigeria and the deaths of the aid workers
for fighting motivated by oil and profit
for fighting in Ramadi
For the hope of peace,
for the climate accord from Paris
for hope of implementing change
for countries taking in refugees
For the people of Benin, Côte d'Ivoire, Togo
For those who suffer, especially the homeless and sick
For those we love, those we hate and those we are indifferent to
For the transformation from ME to WE
Let peace prevail on earth.
So mote it be.

Lord’s Prayer
Translation by Neil Douglas Klotz, Sufi
O Birther! Creator of the Cosmos,
Focus your light within us— make it useful:
Create your reign of unity now-
Your one desire then acts with ours,
as in all light, so in all forms.
Grant what we need each day in bread and insight.
Loose the cords of mistakes binding us,
as we release the strands we hold
of others’ guilt.
Don’t let surface things delude us,
But free us from what holds us back.
From you is born all ruling will,
the power and the life to do,
the song that beautifies all,
from age to age it renews.
Truly— power to these statements—
may they be the ground from which all
my actions grow: Amen.
May Peace Prevail on Earth. Amen. So mote it be.
…
Notes:
"Amen" means "may it be so."
"May peace prevail on earth." is an addition inspired by a practice Michael Dickel does.
