Crystallize Meaning through Creativity: An Advent Event

What is this, you say?

Starting tomorrow we will be observing advent through a series of reflections of image, poetry, and personal story. The reflections are written by people all around the world of all faith persuasions-Jewish, Christian, Atheist, Spiritually Independent-you name it! But we are all coming together to slow down and begin again in this time of Advent.

What is Advent? Wikipedia describes it as "Advent is a season observed in many Western Christian churches as a time of expectant waiting and preparation for the celebration of the Nativity of Jesus at Christmas. The term is an anglicized version of the Latin word adventus, meaning arriving." Basically, we are preparing for a new thing!

Won't you join us? And you can join in. Each day will include a Mr. Linky tool to hook us all together. We can then be neighborly and visit one another. Or you can leave a word, comment or message in the comments area.

Why start on Thanksgiving? Because I am apparently, that may be true, but the reason is that the Christian weekday actually starts on a Thursday. Thursday - Saturday point towards Sunday and Monday - Wednesday reflect back to Sunday. So there is a logic there!

I can't wait to begin the waiting! See you there!
