   An ancient Japanese legend promises that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish by a crane.  I'm sitting here this weekend pondering how I can help the world. I don't know if a thousand paper crimes is really the answer, but if I could make a thousand, what would my wish be? It wouldn't be equality, but justice.  Some of us need extra support to get to the same place as those who sit in "powerful" spots. Some of us need their communities to make room for them so they can contribute to society in ways that will make the world a better place. Some of us want to be the answer to some of the big questions that need to be answered to bring about peace and justice. We want to bring an end to racism, sexism, ageism, and ableism. We can help. Jeremiah 33:6a Behold, I will bring to it health and healing, and I will heal them In 3 days I am going to enter the hospital for back surgery.  This is an eagerly anticipated event because I have been in so much pain for such a long time and this is my best chance at relief.  But it got me thinking about healing and the value of touching and holding those in pain.  It is not uncommon to be afraid to touch or hold a person in pain, either physical or mental pain, because we don’t want to cause them any additional discomfort.  But, when it comes right down to it those of us who suffer chronic pain want to be held.
