Beginning Again: New Contributors

Last week, I introduced the theme of beginning again. I characterized it as a return to what is calling you. Poorly worded, perhaps! I would further expand it to a deepening awareness of that which is in your inmost heart calling, urging you to completion. That seems pretty yummy to me.

Part of what is in my inmost heart is to conspire with others and have a co-creation of online sacred space. The work was begun on CloakedMonk.com, but it has not been brought to completion. Community can bring this together! And as such, I would like to expand your community to include two of my dear friends, Michelle Conklin and Ruth Jewell.

Ruth Jewell recently received her Masters of Divinity from Seattle University, School of Theology and Ministry.  She is currently in-care at Queen Anne Christian Church in preparation for possible ordination in the tradition of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).  She is a board member and volunteer for the Youth Chaplaincy Coalition, which serves youth in criminal detention.  Ruth has a long personal history of practicing contemplative spiritual practices, which have been instrumental in much of her own discernment process.  She hopes to pass on her love of sitting with the Holy Spirit. She also writes at aquietwalk.com.

Michelle Conklin has also recently received her Masters of Divinity from Seattle University, School of Theology and Ministry and also a Post Masters Certificate in Spiritual Direction. She is currently serving as a hospital chaplain and will be doing her final internship as a pastoral intern in the Unitarian Universalist tradition. She has a love for all things sparkly and is a drama mama of a fine troupe of young ones that love nothing more than to express themselves on stage, in song, and through dance. She hopes to pass on a love of justice deeply grounded in spirituality and all things shiny.

Please join me in welcoming these two co-conspirators towards a spirituality of returning to the center, slowing down, and beginning again.
