I've been in and out of current events lately, because sometimes it just gets too much to handle. It seems like people are looking for excuses to argue about flags and who can marry whom. These are worthy debates, to be sure, but at the end of the day there is something we need to remember.
Love one another. One kind of love isn't better than another. Having the "wrong" set of beliefs doesn't make someone less worthy of respect and love. I don't agree with what some of the people in my life believe about my marriage. I don't agree with what some of them believe about how to treat people who are different from themselves. I do still love and respect them.
Most of us have that one issue that is a deal-breaker in relationships. For the minions, it's squabbling over bananas. It's okay to have those deal-breakers, and if you need to be separate from someone because of your different beliefs, just do it out of respect and love. Not out of hate or fear or anger.
Make the world a better place. Be the change you want to see in the world.
