Gloria Patri
Gloria Patri from Wikipedia

For God’s foolishness is wiser than human wisdom, and God’s weakness is stronger than human strength.
1 Corinthians 1:25

Gloria Patri
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be.
World without end. Amen.

Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

Ephesians 3:21

I remember enjoying Mass in Latin -- even though I did not totally understand it all ... part of your post tugged this memory out of the files. I enjoyed the direction you took us today -- with the explosion of stars and world without end. Thank you for sharing :-)

My high school choir sang so many religious numbers in Latin in statewide competitions back in the early 60s! I am so grateful you posted today on this Lenten scripture selection with this Latin Gloria Patria included. My daughter still prefers Midnight Christmas Eve services in Latin! She studied Latin for years and loves the purity of the sounds. With such purity should our hearts approach His Throne, the holder of all wisdom upon we depend.
