Join Me in a Lenten Journey

I am going to try to do a Lenten discipline of reading scripture and offering a creative response. The creative response will likely be a short form poem, but who knows! I may get really wild. You are welcome to join the journey. This is not a challenge, but it is a resource to prompt your own journey. If you would like me to list your blog here, I am happy to do so. Just drop a note into the comments.

The scripture readings are the second tab on this blog or  http://cloakedmonk.com/lenten-haiku-journey/ .

Shalom,

Terri

Reblogged this on "On Dragonfly Wings with Buttercup Tea" and commented: Today is Fat Tuesday, Mardi Gras Day! Tomorrow is the beginning of many individual's Lenten Journey. Check out Terri's thought provoking idea for a meaningful and different approach to Lent this year!

Becca Givens reblogged this post. So very pleased to find you! I would like for you to list my blog: http://granbee.wordpress.com. I will definitely be following along with you during Lent. I may need to do the Sunday and Monday ones together, okay? I have clicked to "follow" you and get email notifications of each days post. Wondrous love, this is!

Wonderful! Glad to have you. I'm going to make a blog roll of participants. Sunday and Monday combined is fine. Whatever works for your own spiritual needs/growth/practices. And that is one of my favorite hymns!

I am such a church geek I forgot about defining Lent. It is not something all church traditions participate in! Welcome aboard.

On of my Facebook friends said she was giving up Facebook for Lent---and she has! I replied: "I'm giving up Lent." Not really, but if something is worth giving up for 40 days, isn't it worth getting it out of your life for good---sort of a de-cluttering operation ? But I digress. My real reason for writing is to say that I am delighted that you are "haiku-ing" your way through Lent. (Because I believe that my poetic talents are God-given, I would never ever consider giving up haiku for Lent.) Probably more than you wanted to know... :)

Wonderful! Sometimes Lent is about taking on an additional practice rather than giving something up, too!

Hi, I have written a haiku for the Lent Haiku Journey. I have published it on my poetryblog. There I will publish all (if I succeed) the haiku for Lent Haiku Journey. Thanks for the invitation Terri.

Thank you Terri. It will become a tough Journey I think, because I am not so into the Christian belief. Love to be a part of this Lent Haiku Journey.

Perhaps you can read it as wisdom readings without attaching to the tradition. Although I am attached to the Christian tradition, I am not a traditionalist. Does that even make sense?
