If we could see…

if

if we could feel
just a little of the
brokenness
of the world
and the cosmos
and the creator

the children who
hunger
amidst prosperity

the killers whales
poisoned
in their own seas

the plains that
dehydrate
as water is moved

the wondrous space
polluted
as debris is flung outward

the god who flinches
with every lash of
ignorance
poison
abuse
decay

if we could feel
just a little of
that

we would
weep.
