Advent Week 1: Hope – December 8

This is Bodhi Day in Buddhism. This is the day in 596 BCE that the Buddha attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree. It is a day of celebration and meditation. Often colored lights are strung around the home and are turned on each evening for 30 days. A candle is also lit during this time.  Since we come from many traditions, what does enlightenment speak of to your community?

Quotes from Buddhism on Hope

What is difficult here?

What calls to you?

How will you respond?
